Humanitarian response to Dominica: Key stakeholders develop #GBV Standard Operating Procedures

Key stakeholders working with the UNFPA Caribbean and our humanitarian response team in Dominica contributed meaningfully to the development and localizing of a Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) manual for handling GBV survivors. They did this as part of a UNFPA - supported SOP workshop on the 25th of May, 2016 at the scenic Garaway Hotel in Roseau, Dominica. Ms. Gelina Fontaine, Social Work and Development & Child Protection Activist facilitated the session, with assistance from Randy Warner from our Barbados Liaison Office and Sajida Birhmani, UN Volunteer and GBV specialist for UNFPA.

The following key stakeholders contributed: Bureau of Gender Affairs, Lifeline Ministries, Ministry of Health, CariMAN Dominica Chapter, Social Welfare Division, Hope Foundation, Sickle Cell Cares Foundation, East Dominica Children’s Foundation, M/V Pacific Hope, IsraAid and the Dominica National Council of Women.
