ORGANIZATIONAL SETTING AND LOCATION

The Programme & Finance Associate is located in the SROC Jamaica-Kingston and reports directly to the International Operations Manager.

In a global organization, where many of our people are based in challenging environments, the incumbent  will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and effective administrative, financial support for the implementation of the Sub-Regional program of the UNFPA Sub-regional Office for the Caribbean.
 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES, INTER ALIA

Ensuring effective financial support for the UNFPA SROC programme

  • Ensuring an effective financial recording and reporting system, internal control and audit follow-up and processes financial transactions in an accurate and timely way;
  • Assisting in the formulation of project and activity budgets;
  • Establishing and maintains contacts with government counterparts and implementing partners to ensure an effective and efficient collaboration;

 

Provide logistical and technical support to UNFPA programme staff  and implementing partners in Programme Management

  • Supporting Programme and Project staff with implementation through creation and monitoring of Implementing Partners workplans and liaising with Implementing Partners for progress reports 
  • Supporting with management of cash transfer and reporting by Implementing Partners.
  • Supporting programme and project staff with procurement activities through the initiation and review of procurement requests and analyses.
  • Providing quality services in administration, procurement, communication and management of office equipment and infrastructure to internal and external clients mastering all relevant rules, guidelines, processes and procedures;
