Jamaica has been able to cut its teen pregnancy rate in almost half since the 1970s, yet it still has the fourth highest rate in the Caribbean behind the Dominican Republic, Guyana and Belize. In this feature funded in part by UNFPA, 18 Degrees North tells the story of eighteen year old Shachelle Henry from Kingston who became pregnant at 13 after her nonchalant father encouraged her to find a man to support her. Through the eyes of Henry and another teen mother, the feature highlights the plight of teen moms in Jamaica.
