Director and Representative Alison Drayton delivered remarks at a Caribbean virtual conference on Youth Engagement for Global Action on the 15 August 2020. She joined the UN RCO Suriname and the Join UN75 team in a conference which successfully engaged stakeholders on a wide set of issues. The virtual conference was organized as part of the regional celebration of International Youth Day 2020.
The conference highlighted the importance of youth participation and the need for increased advocacy on the many issues affecting youth at the community, national and global level. Creative expressions including the spoken word and the use of poetry were used as part of the outreach strategy.
