JAMAICA: UNFPA launches online GBV platform in partnership with Bureau of Gender Affairs

The Honourable Minister Olivia Grange (centre), Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment & Sport formally received the online Gender-Based –Victim (GBV) platform on the 4th of December at the Courtleigh Auditorium in Kingston from Dr. Pilar de la corte Molina, SRH Advisor and Ms. Vilma Gregory, Advocacy and Communications Consultant of the UNFPA Sub-Regional Office for the Caribbean. 


The platform was developed by the UNFPA in partnership with the Bureau of Gender Affairs which is a division of the Ministry and is available to victims, survivors, service providers and advocates. Members of the virtual platform will be able to share stories, upload related images and videos, access resource materials and create a network for healing, recovery and support.

The handover took place at a public forum branded Big Ooman and Big Man Chat, with a focus on Intimate Partner Violence. The event was organized by the Bureau in partnership with the UNFPA and the UN Women Caribbean Multi-Country Office.
