The 2023-2024 cohort of the Belize Youth Advisory Group (YAG) participated in an Orientation & Awareness Building Workshop on 25 & 26 November 2022, which commemorated International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, marking the start of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence. During the 2-day workshop led by the UNFPA Belize office and past YAG members, the participants were oriented on the purpose of the YAG, introduced to UNFPA's mandate, ICPD issues & the Montevideo Consensus, were engaged in meaningful discourse about issues affecting them and others, and subsequently formulated actions for further capacity development, advocacy, community outreach, leadership and participation, as well as for collaboration with other partners during their tenure.
