12 April 2018

On April 12, 2018 the FAO led other UN agencies such as UN Guyana, PAHO/WHO, UNAIDS , IOM and UNFPA Caribbean in a collaboration with the Ministry of Social Cohesion, aimed at celebrating the second Harmony Village event. The goal was to promote the peaceful and harmonious co-existence of all Guyanese and strengthen public/private partnerships at the community and national levels, regardless of socio-economic status, religious and political backgrounds. Exhibitors included the private sector, NGOs, international NGOs, governmental, religious and cultural organisations with attractive folklore displays showcasing Guyana’s unique cultural and culinary identities. Displays also included a wide range of clothing, artefacts, crafts material and literature. Several students from the Primary, High, Tertiary and Special School levels were in attendance.
