Grenada is the most southern of the Windward Islands and has a population of 105, 541 with 100 males to 103.8 females according to the 2011 Population and Housing Census. It is a tri-island state comprising the islands of Grenada, Carriacou and Petit Martinique.

Grenada is also vulnerable to climate related/weather shocks and has been impacted by hurricanes.

Executive powers are vested in a Prime Minister as Head of Government and supported by a Cabinet. As Head of State, the Governor General represents Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.
