Expanded Access to Sexuality Education in Guyana’s Hinterland
Susan continues to benefit from culturally appropriate and age appropriate Comprehensive Sexuality Education.

Susan is a 12-year-old girl who dreams of working as a nurse in the future. She is a resident of a hinterland community in Guyana, which is mainly populated by Guyana’s Indigenous Peoples, and which has one of the highest percentage of adolescent pregnancy in Guyana. Thanks to UNFPA, Susan’s future is bright because she continues to benefit from culturally appropriate and age appropriate Comprehensive Sexuality Education. Susan continues to learn in an age appropriate manner about how to prevent early and unwanted pregnancy, how to live a life free of violence, and how to exercise her sexual and reproductive rights.
