Over 150 of the Spotlight Initiative’s stakeholders from 25 countries convened in Cancun Mexico for the Global Learning Symposium in September. This in-person knowledge exchange provided colleagues with an opportunity to share and reflect on the Spotlight Initiative’s journey and how to sustain momentum for ending violence against women and girls. During the symposium Belize, Guyana and Jamaica received award nominations and recognition.
The Guyana Spotlight Team and some individual members received a nomination for three of the six categories of Spotlight awards; including the leadership award nomination for Adler; and the Belize Spotlight team was nominated for the Performance award. Jamaica received recognition for the integration of violence against women and girls ( VAWG) in the pre-service curriculum for first-line health responders of the Faculty of Medical Science at the University of West Indies (UWI).This partnership with the University of West Indies was presented by the Spotlight Jamaica as one of the promising approaches during one of the plenary sessions.
Congratulations to the team for your hard work and dedication!
