Day of the Girl Child today!

11 October marks the first International Day of the Girl Child.

UNFPA launches the global report "Marrying too Young: End Child Marriage" at 11am NY time at a press conference with our Executive Director and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. UNFPA also hosts the opening of a photo exhibit renewing global attention to the issue.

In keeping with this the UNFPA Caribbean invites you to a

 "EndingImpunity for Sexual Violence: Breaking the Silence "to be held at the Courtleigh Auditorium, New Kingston,

Thursday October 11 at 6:00pm – 8:30 pm
 
Discussing the questions:- 

Should Jamaicans be concerned about violence against women and children?

How wide-scale is the problem?

Is there a link between gender and the violence that women and children are experiencing?

What impact is it having on the nation’s children and

 Is there justice for the victims?
