Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport in Jamaica, Olivia Grange acknowledges the importance of the Spotlight Initiative partnership as a strategy to address GBV as a major public health and development issue. She was speaking at the national launch of the EU-funded and UN-led Spotlight Initiative against Family Violence on the 9th March 2020 at the Office of the Prime Minister in Kingston, Jamaica. The European Union is providing funds of approximately 8 million (EUR) to Jamaica for the Spotlight Initiative, with implementation activities being led by the United Nations Resident Coordinator Office in Jamaica, in collaboration with United Nations sister agencies such as UN Women Caribbean , UNFPA, UNDP Jamaica and UNICEF Jamaica and government partner, Bureau of Gender Affairs Jamaica.
