An animated Dr. Jacinta Higgs who is the Director of the Department of Gender and Family Affairs in the Ministry of Social Services and Urban Development passionately shares the benefits of the Dignity Kits which have been delivered by UNFPA to women and girls affected by #HurricaneDorian. The Regional Workshop on Strengthening Statistical Capacity for Census and SDGs in the Caribbean took place from the 8th -11th April 2019 in Kingston, Jamaica. Jointly supported by the UNFPA and ECLAC, the workshop covered the following key aspects of the different stages of the census process: planning, data collection, producing census outputs and the utilization of census data.

The Most Honourable Juliet Holness Juliet Holness, Wife of the Prime Minister of Jamaica and Champion for the Caribbean Woman, Caribbean Child (CARIWAC) Initiative in Jamaica shares key findings from the 2018 State of the World Population Report and makes the link with Jamaica’s fertility situation. Mrs. Holness was speaking at the official launch of the report on the 8th of November at the Terra Nova Hotel in Kingston. The event was hosted by UNFPA Caribbean , in partnership with the Planning Institute of Jamaica (PIOJ).
